Today is Walt's birthday and we are beginning the day with a champagne breakfast and then a day on the water.
We did take a boat ride out to another island called Savala. We had our suits and towels along with lots of sunscreen for the day. It took about 1 1/2 hours to get to the island. The boat was too large for the shallow beach area so it anchored out a ways and we took another smaller one into shore. Some folks started snorkeling right from the boat and headed to shore while others snorkeled from the beach area. We canoed around the island, went on a glass bottom boat and fed the fish, waded, had lunch, learned how many uses they have for the coconut tree and enjoyed the day with folks along with the beautiful weather.
We returned back to our hotel about 5:20 PM just in time to wash our clothes for free at the hotel and then head for dinner and a drink. We have to continue to celebrate the birthday in Fiji.
I have tried to use the Internet again but it is only 30 minutes per day. That is DIRTY. I will try to post this tomorrow morning.
No photos today since my waterproof camera card will not transfer to the iPad. :-(
Sat. April 6
We check out at noon and use our time carefully until 3:30 to leave for the airport. We head to Melbourne and arrive there about 11:30 PM. We will probably get to our hotel around 12:30 or so.
We had a nice run this morning even though we were dripping as if we had been swimming. The humidity is something else. We were able to wash and dry our running clothes so that will help with the aroma we would have had to pack.
Just looking at our itinerary and writing postcards that will probably arrive next month. :-).
Having a good time but it is going fast here in Fiji.
