IS THIS OUR BOAT?

Sunday Dec. 29, 2013

Walt ran around the area this morning to say he ran the southernmost city in the world. We also got some neat morning photos.

Is this our ship? It looks a bit beat but there are numerous other boats nearby ready for fishing the area. There is a lot of seafood in the area. Who would have guessed?

Day of flight to Ushuaia

Fri. Dec.27 and Sat. Dec. 28, 2013

We had a long day of flying to the Southernmost city in the world. The city of Ushuaia. It was chilly here when we arrived-about 5 degrees Celsius which is about 42 degrees with a wind off of the water. We can expect much colder in the upcoming week as we head out to Antarctica tomorrow late afternoon. We will have a lot of daylight hours too, so our sleep schedules may be confused as well.

Here is the airline we flew on from Miami. It took us 3 flights to get to our destination. The first flight was a killer of 9 hours. The other 2 were each about 2 hours. This is not counting the time spent in airports.

Walt got a nice photo of sunrise from the plane before Buenos Aires.

The rest of the photos are from the town of Ushuaia. (Just before landing)

At the Ushuaia airport.

The mountains that have snow which means it must be chilly even if it is summer here.
